Nestled in the Winterhoek Mountains of the Eastern Cape, Haaspoort Bushcamp and Private Nature Reserve captures the serenity and beauty of the Karoo. The Bushcamp is situated on a 2000-hectare malaria-free private game reserve, home to a large variety of wildlife and rare flora. This unique Karoo Accommodation is offered in private thatched en-suite chalets complete with generous bathrooms, indoor & outdoor showers and timber decks overlooking the river. The surrounding mountains envelop the camp and reserve, giving you a feeling of total remoteness and tranquility. This is where savannah bushveld meets the Karoo, an area famous for its diversity of rare plants and succulents.

Enjoy a sunset game drive into the mountains with sweeping views of the surrounding area, go wild or be guided on one of the reserves many hiking / mountain-biking trails, arrange a big-five day safari to a neighbouring Big 5 Game Reserve, visit nearby Graaff-Reinet, Baviaanskloof or Addo Elephant National Park or simply relax at the swimming pool and watch the day slip away. Afterwards, be mesmerized by the Karoo night sky while stories are shared around the campfire.

Accommodation types include self-catering and full board. Full board includes high tea, all game drives and guided bushwalks, three course dinner and brunch.

Haaspoort Bushcamp is situated in the heart of three major tourist routes and offers ideal karoo accommodation for guests travelling between, Steytlerville or Oudtshoorn and Addo Elephant National Park, Graaff-Reinet and the Garden Route and the Baviaanskloof Mega Reserve.

Haaspoort Bushcamp is owner run and managed by Victor and Lindsay Watson who are 5th generation Karoo settlers. Haaspoort Bushcamp is graded by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa as a four star lodge.
